The Village at Dupont Landing

This upscale senior village in Aiken, South Carolina, is tucked within the larger development known as Dupont Landing, next to its sister properties, Dupont Pointe and Dupont Landing. This 70-acre community was master planned by Second Baptist Community Development Corporation and developed over the past two decades. In addition to the three phases of affordable housing, the community includes a state- of- the- art medical facility. The Clyburn Center for Primary Care provides Adult Medicine & Geriatrics, Integrated Behavioral Health Services, Dental Services, OB/GYN Services, Pediatrics, and a Pharmacy in addition to Podiatry, X-ray, Mammography, Vision Care and Dermatology.

The Village was completed in October, 2020, by The Bennett Group in partnership with the Community Action Program of North Alabama, Inc., and the Second Baptist Community Development Corporation, Inc., of Aiken. It includes 46 duplexes for seniors aged 55 and above, each with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It also features a Clubhouse with a spacious gathering room, a fitness center, a computer center and management offices.

The project utilized low-income housing tax credits provided by the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority, which also provided HOME funds. In addition, permanent financing was provided by Troy Bank & Trust and South State Bank, using Affordable Housing Program funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. Equity was provided by Stratford Capital with an investment from South State Bank.
