Fred Bennett
Fred Bennett is founder of Bennett & Company, LLC, and co-founder of The Bennett Group, LLC. Fred’s career in affordable housing spans nearly 60 years. He has worked with development partners and a wide variety of non-profit groups to develop more than 100 properties in six states.. This has included more than 6,000 housing units financed through HUD, USDA, Tax Credit, HOME, and conventional commercial lending programs. His goal has been, and is, to build partnership, relationships and community—as well as quality housing.
Aaron Boldog
Aron joined The Bennett Group in January 2025 as a Partner. He has worked developing affordable housing since 2017. He started his development career with a non-profit, Community Action Partnership of North Alabama, where Aron was introduced to TBG through their partnership with the non-profit. While Aron was leading the development team at CAPNA, CAPNA and TBG developed over 10 properties together with a focus on smaller to mid-size markets in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. Together we have helped hundreds of families and seniors with affordable housing options. Aron will look to help expand The Bennett Group moving in to the future so we can help serve more communities with affordable housing.
Ann Marie Rowlett
Ann Marie Rowlett joined The Bennett Group in 2002, and is currently Partner and Chief Operating Officer. As COO, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that our staff is knowledgeable about the overall goals of the company and how they can best be achieved. Ann Marie coordinates all employee training, benefits, and continued education, while also maintaining a close working relationship with our partners, attorneys, accountants, and other third party professionals. Ann Marie is actively engaged in ongoing strategic planning for the company’s continued growth and success; reviewing all financial statements, projections, and tax documents.
Heather Boldog
Heather Boldog serves as Development Manager, where she leads and supports the development of affordable housing communities from concept through completion. Her responsibilities include overseeing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) applications, project-based voucher applications, cost certifications, and coordinating the many facets of the development process to help deliver high-quality, sustainable housing opportunities.
Heather’s passion for affordable housing was shaped through nearly a decade of leadership within the Head Start program, where she worked alongside children and families facing housing and economic challenges. That firsthand experience fueled her commitment to creating safe, stable housing that strengthens communities and improves quality of life.
In addition to her role as Development Manager, Heather founded HLB Development, LLC to further advance affordable housing initiatives and expand opportunities for community investment. She brings a collaborative leadership style and works alongside experienced development, financial, legal, and construction professionals to successfully structure and deliver impactful multifamily housing developments. Heather is committed to creating communities that provide lasting value for residents while addressing the growing need for quality affordable housing.
Penelope (Penny) Stephens
With an extensive background in banking and Human Resources, Penny has quickly become an integral part of our Development staff. Beginning her tenure with The Bennett Group as Office Manager, she provided critical back office support to our team. Her adaptability, and willingness to take on more challenging tasks, was evident when she accepted the role of Accounting & Human Resources Manager. While managing duties that include bookkeeping, employee benefits, and asset management, Penny also continues to assist our Partners and Project Manager in various aspects of the development process.
Tanya Lugo
Tanya Lugo joined The Bennett Group as a Project Manager, bringing more than ten years of experience in construction project management, business consulting, and financial services. She helps coordinate development activities and works closely with project teams to support successful project execution.
Prior to joining The Bennett Group, Tanya owned and operated a business consulting firm specializing in project management, bookkeeping, tax preparation, and construction accounting practices. She also worked in business and mortgage lending, providing financial solutions to businesses and individuals throughout the region.
A bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish, Tanya is actively involved in community outreach and financial literacy initiatives across Alabama and Georgia.
