Jubilee is a townhouse community developed by The Bennett Group in partnership with Organized Community Action (OCAP). This is the eighth such joint-venture between the two and is designed for eventual homeownership by large families—all homes are either three-bedroom or four-bedroom units, including both flats and two-story townhomes. Each unit features 9’ ceilings, open kitchens with granite countertops, laminate “hard wood” flooring, and private garages. The clubhouse is spacious and includes a large rear veranda, 24-hour fitness center, TV den, kitchen, and a large gathering area. Just outside are a large playground and a splash center of the kids.
This community, though with a quiet, secluded feel, has easy access to I-20, shopping, Jefferson State Community College, the VA hospital, schools and other services.
Jubilee utilized low-income housing tax credits provided by the Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA). Equity has been provided by Enterprise Community Investments and permanent financing by the Alabama Multifamily Loan Consortium.
