| Country Club Cottages offers 32 spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments for seniors ages 55 and older. The well-manicured common areas include a gazebo, picnic area, shuttle board, and a community garden. The clubhouse features an entertainment room with a television, a reading room, computer room and a fully-equipped kitchen. Even though Country Club Cottages has the distinctive charm of a rural neighborhood, it is conveniently located just minutes from the support and community services needed by the residents.
Financing for Country Club Cottages was provided by Gulf Opportunity Zone (GO Zone) tax credits and HOME Loan funds through the Alabama Housing Finance Authority as well as an AHP Grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank in Atlanta. Equity for this project was provided by Enterprise Community Partners. The city of Thomasville, recognizing the need for housing that will enhance the quality of life for their senior citizens, welcomed Country Club Cottages into its community and has been a key factor in its success.
